Meg started school last week. She was so excited she was shaking. She couldn’t wait to learn to read and write properly.
Four days later, she still can’t read or write properly, and it has dawned on her that this school thing is going to take up a lot of time, be tiring, and is not as exciting as she had hoped. By the end of everyday she is walking around like a zombie. We are having early dinners so that we can get her to bed without her realising she is going early (because she isĀ not tired).
She is so ready for school, and we are really happy with our local school (24 kids this year!)… but …. but …
It is so hard for little ones when they start school, so many adjustments, so much to learn and take in. Meg is such an active little girl, so sitting down for long periods of time is hard for her too. She has said several times that she wants to stay home forever.
Talk about heart breaking.
Look how cute she was as a toddler! |
