Yesterday afternoon we packed away the nappy change table and cot. Toby is toilet trained, and too big for the cot (even with the side removed), so it is official… my last baby is no longer a baby. In fact, as he reminds us constantly, he is ‘a big boy”.
I tried to take some photos, but he didn’t want to stay still long enough.
It’s been almost 9 years that the cot has been in use. In many we ways we have been relishing our recently found freedom. Being able to go somewhere without having to lug a whole lot of nappies, a stroller, and other baby paraphernalia is a revelation.
But…
No more babies….
Packing away the cot was that final act that confirmed that babies are over and done for us. Realistically I already knew it, but still I was a bit sad.
Time moves on, and I’m glad to have a big boy!
How did you know when you were through having babies?
