+ Everyone except me has been sick this week. Coughing, spluttering, temperatures, and in the case of Toby, snot everywhere; sick! I know it is going to hit me soon, but I’m doing my best to avoid it. We desperately need to go to town, but there is no point until they are all better. Fingers crossed, Meghann’s school shoes hold out for another week.
+ Last weekend Country Boy built a storage mezzanine in the roof of our car shed. I’m itching to get into the store room and start sorting and chucking stuff out. When we first moved here, we kept all the furniture in an unlined office in the corner of the sun room, so that if we didn’t stay, we could move the furniture back into the house. Over the years, our house had become a bit of a refuge for all the furniture that some one no longer needed. As a result, there are seven single beds stacked in there, along with boxes of old cutlery (which I have plans for!), other miscellaneous household items, and then all the stuff we have stuck in there, like Christmas decorations (I have rather a lot of those).
In preparation for an extension, we need to get this junk sorted out, and take to the tip all the bits and pieces we don’t want. I was hoping to do it this weekend, but with everybody sick, it might have to wait. Obviously my ongoing joy in domesticity has not calmed down. Perhaps I will tackle the craft cupboard instead!
+ We got a set of metal letter punches over the internet, so Country Boy has been making labels for all the trees in the orchard. He is just cutting up some old aluminium cans and then punching the name of the tree into it. Hopefully these labels will last longer than the plastic ones that come on the trees. I’ve got lots of other fun ideas of things to do with the punches too.
+This article came through my facebook feed last night and I just love it. As a teacher I have to deal with so many parents who try to ‘help’ their children avoid consequences, and try to make their children ‘happy’ all the time.
+ I’m on the hunt for a few new blogs to read. Got any good suggestions?
+ The weather is meant to be gorgeous this weekend, so I’m hoping to at least get out for a walk sometime – Happy Saturday!
