Over the weekend we went to Canberra for a day in town. We headed over there to see a kids concert with Colin Buchanan. We have been to several before, and enjoyed this one just as much. Toby was gob-smacked to see Colin was a real person, and not just a character on TV. All 3 kids loved the songs and Colin’s funny jokes, and had a fantastic time.
After the concert we went over to see Floriade. It was the first day, and a lot of the flowers weren’t fully out yet. When we lived in England we went to see Keukenhof, an enormous bulb garden in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, since then all other flower displays tend to pale into insignificance.
Despite the flowers not being at their best, we had a beautiful time walking in the warm sun and admiring the flowers that were out.
We wandered out of the park and sat on the edge of the lake for a while, just soaking up the beautiful weather and atmosphere. Ice cream was consumed.
At the end of the day we stopped off for dinner at the temple of the evil hamburger clown, which according to Meg was the highlight of the entire day – not sure I agree with her on that.
