Over the weekend I made these Whoopie Pies. Purely as research, you understand. My year 10 students have been studying trends in food, so I thought that I would get them to make Whoopie Pies. Being a ‘good’ teacher, I thought that it was only right that I tried them out first (any excuse).
Boy, am I glad I did. They are not as easy as they look.
The mix tends to be half way between a biscuit dough and a cake batter, and in order for them all to be smooth and even when cooked you need to use the teaspoons to smooth each blob into a ball before you cook it.
But they still went down well with the kids (and Country Boy too!).
Best of all, once they were made, I had fun with our new low light lens for the camera. I have decided I now just need to get some new plates and platters so that I can branch out a bit. Don’t you think?????
