Autumn Glory

At long last, it is cold here! The fire is going 24/7 and the farmhouse is cosy warm. Outside, the trees have suddenly turned colourful and are scattering their leaves. On Friday it was snowing (!!) on the way to work, and we’ve had a little rain at the farm; though heaven knows we need a lot more!! When the weather turns cold, there’s nothing better than throwing on boots, coats and beanies, and grabbing the camera for a wander. Once the cold gets too much, I can return to the warmth of the fire inside and let the heat sink into my bones. Nothing beats the warmth that the fire gives! In the garden, we’re quickly gathering in the last bits of harvest – the quince and the pumpkins – and pulling out the old, dead plants. Much of the winter veg is already planted, but there’s still room for plenty more. By next week, all the colourful leaves will have gone and the trees will be bare, so here are few photos to remember this Autumn glory.
