Hello from Magic Beach – our fave place to spend a Summer holiday. Magic Beach, of course, is not it’s real name, but the kids call it that after a book of the same name. We arrived before New Year’s Eve, and have been spending our time swimming, reading, playing board games, and generally relaxing. Add in plenty of good food and we are in heaven.
For the past 7 years, we have been visiting the same house on the central coast. A week of slow days after the manic-ness of Christmas and the end of the school year. This year is our last year in this old house, which is about to be sold and, no doubt, pulled down so that something more modern can be built instead. While I’m sure it will be beautiful, something will be lost when the old shack with its’ quirks is pulled down.
So we are savouring the last slow days here at Magic Beach.
It’s going to be a rough return to reality!
Are you enjoying some slow days?
I’m really not looking forward to the reality presently knocking on my door. Your photos are gorgeous.
Oh, yes. I am enjoying these slow days. So much so that I keep wishing to push back the starting school again date! Your “Magic Beach” looks indeed a special place, a place your children will remember spending their holidays. (I’m familiar with the story too, I read it to my boy many times when he was younger.) We have such a place too where we go every year and which is just so hard to leave! Meg:)
That is my kind of holiday, looks fab!
Our beach holidays were in same house for very many years. Central Coast holidays had different ways to yours of enjoyment, but the basic areas were the same. Sand, sun, swimming, food, family. Your photos brought back memories for me.
