It is slowly turning to Autumn here on the farm. So far no (much needed) rain, but we all have our fingers crossed that it comes soon. Autumn always means that we are busy harvesting all our summer crops before the frosts come. Once they do, it is well and truly pumpkin season. Pumpkin is one of my favourite vegetables. Country Boy? Not a fan at all. He likes growing them, but not so much eating them, unless the pumpkin has been used as part of another dish. He loves pumpkin soup!
So here are four pumpkin recipes that we all love (even Country Boy).
Pumpkin Chutney
Pumpkin Spice Cake (CB whipped up a few of these on Friday)
Pumpkin and Cinnamon Scrolls
Twice Cooked Pumpkin Gnocchi
What are your favourite pumpkin recipes? I’m about to get another barrow load, and I’m always on the hunt for idea!
I used to often make a bread with yeast, mashed pumpkin, cumin and coriander seeds. If you would like the recipe, let me know. It was originally for mashed carrot and mint but I adapted it. It was always popular , especially toasted.
