I’m not sure how July managed to go so quickly and yet have so much jam packed into it too. August is already looking busy too. Perhaps it’s just a state of mind. July was full of cold crisp days, wearing beanies and coats whenever we ventured outside, and hours spent indoors playing with Lego, loom bands, and listening to stories.
Making : paper bunting for the kids room. It was a spur of the moment thing, but I love it.
Cooking : marshmallows on bonfires; baked beans; soups; lots of comfort food.
Drinking : Hot Milo to keep me warm.
Reading: Alphabet Family Journal and Confessions of a QANTAS flight attendant.
Wanting: not much.
Looking: for new dining furniture on ebay.
Playing: Casting Crowns. Over and over again. Also Colin Buchanan.
Deciding: on floor plans for our house extension.
Wishing: school holidays were longer.
Enjoying: listening to the chronicles of Narnia on audio book with the kids.
Waiting: for my voice to come back. Not being able to talk is a serious problem when you are a teacher!
Wearing: two pairs of socks. It’s the only way to keep your feet warm in winter.
Liking: my blog redesign. It has taken some time, but it has been worth it.
Wondering: what colour to paint Tobys chest of drawers. I’m thinking a happy yellow colour, and switching out the handles for some black metal ones. I’ve ordered some chalk paint, so we will see what that looks like!
Loving: having guests come for a visit.
Pondering: how is it possible that I have a four, seven, and nine year old? Where did that time go?
Considering: whether or not to go to my school 20 year reunion.
Watching: Life at 9.
Hoping: to sell some piglets soon.
Needing: new work boots to wear around the paddock. I discovered that my old ones have a huge crack in each sole, making my feet rather wet when I go out to the paddock.
Smelling: Jonquils as they poke their heads up in our garden.
Wearing: winter coats and beanies.
Following: lego travellers.
Noticing: that I am coping with winter weather better than I used to. Perhaps I am acclimatising to farm life down here!
Knowing: not a lot.
Thinking: about what our future here on the farm will look like.
Admiring: Hannahs creativity with loom bands. Who would have thought you could loom band a phone case???
Sorting: the fridge and pantry. Next up is the book case!
Buying: winter skirts on ebay.
Getting: wood for the fire.
Disliking: Our dining room chairs. Country Boy’s parents bought them second hand when they got married. His mother recovered them for Country Boy when he was in a share house at university. They need recovering… or chucking out.
What did July look like for you?
