Saturday morning dawned bright and unseasonally warm. Perfect for lazing around home, and perhaps getting a few jobs done. Instead though, I had to take Meg to a birthday party in town. Worse still, it was an ‘animal’ themed dress up party, and in typical fashion I had left the costume organisation to the last possible minute.
Luckily I came across this post on Pinterest on Friday night, and had pinned it to my Dinosaur board (yes I have a board dedicated to dinosaur themed items). Saturday morning saw me grab out some left over felt and an old pair of socks to whip up a pair of dino socks for my dinosaur enthusiast. I then took the same inspiration and cut out some bigger spikes to attach to the back of an old t*shirt. Combined that with a home made dinosaur mask (made last year), and I had a happy 6 year old who was dressed to impress.
Use a small stitch to tack the spikes together and make them stand up.
Stand back and admire your ‘creativity’.
Meg is super impressed with both the socks and the t shirt, and so we have decided to keep the shirt just as it is. The socks were worn to church on Sunday afternoon – a sure sign that she loves them.
Got a super easy kids costume idea? Got a dinosaur obsessed child??
