Holidays are almost upon us – Hooray! It has been a short term in some ways, but boy have we packed in a lot, and boy are we ready for a break.
Of course, school holidays means that I tackle a few little projects and ideas that I have been tucking away in the back of my mind over the term.
These holidays I’m tackling the pantry, which has been in a dire state for a while now. Sorting, culling, and rearranging. Hopefully more space will emerge. Ditto the craft cupboard which is underused and stuffed with things we never use any more. I’ve got some ideas about how to make it more user friendly. We will have to wait and see how they go in reality though.
Then there are all the unglamorous, but necessary things that I try to get done in holidays because I just don’t get time during the term. Think dentist visits for the whole family, sorting out the back end of the blog, and changing email addresses etc.
I’m also keen to (finally) make our 2013 photobook. If I get it done these holidays, I’m ahead of last year – fingers crossed!
We are planning to escape to the mountains for a few days. Time spent with friends and family is much needed. We are going to take a trip into Sydney to see the Tyrannosaurus exhibit at the Australian Museum. No prizes for guessing which child is most excited about this one. It’s a good chance to take a train ride, see the city, and experience those things we don’t get to see often out here.
July is always the coldest month of the year around here. Hopefully amongst the projects and plans there will be time to read in front of the fire, and perhaps even have a bonfire or two. Bring it on!
Do you love school holidays as much as I do? What are you planning to do??
I've a 10th birthday 'High Tea' for my daughter, my own birthday, a week of gracious in-laws visiting for school holiday care and a very much anticipated break away in Melbourne with my dear friend who lives half a state away. Can't wait for all these things (yes, even the in-laws – they're amazing)
Sounds divine. It's lovely to have great in laws – I know I do!
