I don’t suppose that there is ever a convenient time for your laptop to break, but right now has been a pain in the backside. Current estimated delivery date for a new one is December 25. Safe bet that it won’t be coming on that day.
We are spending Christmas with my family this year. I’m super excited because we haven’t had the whole family together for several years. We butchered several pigs two weeks ago, and then traded some of the pork for some ducks. So this year roasted pork and duck are on the menu. Any hints on roasting a whole duck? I’ve only done it once before.
As I write, I’ve got this chocolate pavlova by Nigella in the oven for a Christmas lunch with Country Boy’s family tomorrow. I do it in three layers and then stack them up. Our family are all fans of dessert; my mother in law makes the best lemon meringue pie ever (it is my favourite food!). No family gathering is complete without several dessert options.
Thankyou to all of you who have dropped by my little piece of the internet this year. In some of the harder moments, when the whole farm life thing is getting on top of me, this blog helps me to focus on the good things in life; and there really are so many good things. No matter where you are, I wish you a happy and holy Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our saviour.
