+ What a crazy week for my little blog. When I wrote this article for The Organised Housewife I thought I might be lucky and pick up a dozen or so extra readers. So I was more than a little blown away when I jumped on Facebook and had notifications coming out my ears. Thank you to everyone who has emailed, messaged, and started following my blog.
+ On Tuesday Country Boy had an attempt at taking a photo of the kids for the Christmas calendar that we give to his grand parents each year. My goodness it is hard to get three kids all looking relatively clean and behaving cooperatively. Look away if you are on the Christmas list…
It definitely shows their personalities, though I wish Toby was wearing a different t shirt (I hate t shirts with slogans on them, but I got that one in an op shop for around the farm).
+ We picked our first artichokes on Monday. I’ve never cooked them before so I put out a call on Facebook. The general consensus was to boil them and then eat with butter or vinaigrette. I dubiously cooked them, and then drizzled them with melted butter, lemon juice, and salt. The kids weren’t big fans, but once Country Boy and I got going, we loved them (lets face it butter makes everything taste good). Definitely looking forward to a few more.
+ The girls have been having a lovely time constructing an elaborate cubby down near the chicken shed. It is getting more and more elaborate each day. I love that they have the space to do this kind of thing here, and that there are lots of old branches around for them to use.
While we are at it, check out how long and green the grass is! Country Boy and his father have both been talking about how good the season has been. Farmers talk a lot about the weather. Hopefully we get a little more rain over the next few weeks, and we will be set for a good summer!
+ Toby has been our little shadow this week. He always loves to do what ever Country Boy and I are doing. With the warm days, Country Boy has been hard at work in the garden, weeding and preparing for Spring planting. Toby has his own tools and wheel barrow so he can ‘help’.
+ Our weekend involves us visiting our close friends in Queensland. We are excited to be taking a plane trip, going to the beach, and spending lots of time chatting and hanging out. If only we lived closer…. Happy Friday Everyone!
