+ We have made it – hurrah! The kids have finished school for the year, and not a minute too soon. We have had so many things going on this week. I some times wonder whether ending the school year at the same time as Christmas is too much. Certainly having school run so late this year has been crazy!
+ On Tuesday night we went to Hannah’s school presentation. All 29 students sang songs, played guitars or percussion, and were in a play. Hannah participated happily – which shows just how far she has come this year! So proud of this girl!
+ Tuesday was also Hannah’s Birthday. A few presents in the morning, a cake and family party dinner on the veranda before presentation. What more could an 8 year old want?
+ My family arrived on Monday night to stay for a few days. It has been lovely catching up with them. The kid loved seeing my sister and brother in law who live in SE Asia. Whenever my family arrive, they love a project to get involved in, so Country Boy got them to help build a tree house in the giant elm tree which is half way between our house and the shearing shed.
Country Boy has been wanting to build one in the tree for ages (probably since he was a boy), and some help was all he needed to get started.
|(Apparently you need a tractor to build a tree house!)|
+ The kids enjoyed showing off the sights of the farm, and playing with their cousins. My sisters both commented how much the kids have thrived in their new life on the farm. After giving them so much freedom, it would be almost cruel to move back to our small suburban block.
+ After the last few days, we are spending the weekend at home. I plan on going to town on Monday for a top up grocery shop, and then bring on Christmas!
Happy Friday Everyone!
