+ Country Boy bought me Season 2 of Downton Abbey for my birthday last weekend. He must read my blog occasionally! I wish I could say I held off and watched them slowly, but I didn’t! Luckily I am one of those people who can watch a series over and over again… which I will! Now I need to watch Season 3!
+ It’s been 2 weeks since I began working full time at the school only 15 minutes from home, and I am loving it! The kids are pretty good, I get to teach my way, and (best of all) not sitting for two and a half hours on my bottom in the car each day is making me feel so much healthier! It is tiring trying to get my head around all the new systems, because each school is so different, but in a good way.
|Have I mentioned I love these two before??|
+ The farm has turned from green to brown over the last few weeks. It happened gradually, so I didn’t really notice until I looked properly. My father in law has put a mob of sheep in the home paddock to eat down all the grass because it is a fire hazard now that it is all dry. The landscape changes so much out here. The seasons seem so much more pronounced!
+ I took the girls into town to see a small circus on Tuesday night. They loved it. There was juggling, stilt walking, gymnastics, trapeze tricks, and several other things. Hannah announced that it was the best thing she had ever seen, and has spent every lunch time at school practising gymnastic tricks with her friends.
+ It is only 4 weeks left of school now, and boy are we ready for it to end. The kids have had enough, and so have we!
+ At the risk of sounding smug, I have just about completed my Christmas shopping – just a few bits for Country Boy (which I can’t say much about here), and something for the in laws, and we are all done! We try to limit presents to kids a bit because by the time they get one from aunts, uncles and grandparents it all mounts up. Whilst we are on this point, any advice for what to get for a near impossible to find a gift for father-in-law??? I’m thinking food is always good!
+ We are off to the beach for a weekend with Country Boy’s family. We have booked a big house right opposite the beach, and are hoping for warm weather and a relaxing time with his parents, brother and sister, and their partners.
