Over the weekend my sister and I made a whole lot of Christmas crafts. We had spent too much time on pinterest and had got all inspired to be creative. Of course our husbands were ‘most supportive’ (if you take supportive to mean they kept the sarcastic comments to a minimum) of our ideas, but we kept going anyway
So over the next few days, I will show you some of our wonderful creations. My sisters’ husband was teasing her, asking whether the photos of our craft will “go viral” (insert roll of eyes), whilst mine was making condescending remarks about our effort being ‘totally amaaazing!’.
You will need:
A packet of buttons in each colour you plan to use (we shared a packet of white buttons and had a packet each of red and green).
A few styrofoam cones
Paint in the same colour as your buttons
Hot glue gun (one of my favourite craft tools ever)
- Quickly paint the cones with the paint. This is so you don’t see the actual cone so much.
- When the paint is dry, use the hot glue gun to attach the buttons. Place a little glue on the back of each button and the push it into place. Start from the bottom and work your way up, mixing the big buttons with littler ones, and mixing red and white.
- Once you have covered the entire cone, get some more of the smaller buttons, and glue them randomly over the top. Use them to cover some of the bigger gaps between the buttons.
What do you think of our efforts? Will the pictures ‘go viral’? Any hints for how to control your husband when he wants to make sarcastic comments about your crafting?
