+ We are back from 4 days on the South Coast of NSW and it was heavenly – apart from the 5.30am wake up on the first day. Once we established suitable times to make noise, it was wonderful. We wandered along the board walk, had lunch on the pier, dinner at the local club (the girls loved the home made lasagne). The kids rode their scooters up and down the path in front of the cabin. Country Boy did some fishing and flew his stunt kite, and I read some books. We went for a drive to Tilba one morning, and wandered around looking at ‘Ye Olde Shoppes’ and bought cheese. I hadn’t realised how much I needed some time away from everything, and it was fabulous.
+ The holiday confirmed that 3 kids are enough for us. Not that I don’t love babies, but we really enjoyed not having to pack up all the baby paraphernalia. All Toby needed was a bib, a dummy, and our nappy wallet – that was it! How freeing is it to not have to take the stroller, travel cot, sippy cups/bottles, sterilizer, booster seat!!! We didn’t know ourselves – and there was so much more room in the car boot.
+ Meg has the unique ability to be ‘busting’ to go to the toilet every time we eat out; generally as soon as our meals are delivered! So for every meal we ate out whilst on holidays, I got to break my meal by going to the loo – fantastic. She is just a little too young to send off by herself somewhere new to find a toilet, but I was not happy to have to leave my sweet chilli squid and salad to take her! I offered to take her before every meal and she assured me that she didn’t need to go. Another reason why I think we are done with babies!
+ On the way home yesterday we stopped at Braidwood, where I found this gorgeous shop, Hoola Hoop. It had beautiful vintage inspired clothing. I tried on this dress and loved it – just trying to think of a reason why I ‘need’ it. I bought this skirt, and am now planning to get online and buy some more! So beautifully made, and flattering for those of us who *ahem* have an ‘hour glass’ figure.
+ My sister and her family are visiting us for the long weekend and we are so excited. We don’t have a lot planned – it is meant to be cold – but just spending time together will be fun! On Sunday we may go into town for the annual local festival. It is a big deal around this area and gets around 12000 people turning up – not bad for a town of about 2000. The kids are hoping to go riding on the motorbike and play with the train set. I think we can arrange that!
Happy Friday Everyone!
