Each year we have a tradition with our friends in the mountains called Autumnfest. In late Autumn we go for a drive up to Mount Wilson via Bells Line of Road. We stop for apples and fresh roasted nuts and pumpkins. When we get there we have a huge picnic followed by a leisurely walk through a garden, looking at the beautiful leaves etc. We finish the day with beautiful dinner at a friends house. We always have pumpkin and apple pies for dessert, followed by pumpkin carving.
Country Boy is an ever eager pumpkin carver – he has even bought his own tools specifically to do it. We also have a huge lot of pumpkins coming on. In several weeks we will be inundated with them.
So this week on Pinterest I have been getting some inspiration for Autumnfest.
Country Boy has a pumpkin carving saw, but after seeing these I feel sure he is going to be ‘needing’ some more tools.

I also learnt some great ways to preserve the pumpkin once it has been carved!

We are always on the look out for new inspiration for pumpkin carving. Some of these ideas are incredible. Country Boy is incredibly artistic and his pumpkins are always so creative.

Look at the intricate designs on these ones. I may just be putting an order in for some of these.

I love this idea. I’m going to put some of our pumpkins on my mantle piece once they are ready. I think it looks very ‘country’.

I love these cupcakes. I am already planning to make something like this for Autumnfest 2012.

I love the pumpkin mantel piece. So different, yet beautiful all at once.
