At Hannah’s school, instead of having a Fathers Day stall (where she can buy hankies, and soap) they have a Fathers Day breakfast before school. It is a fantastic morning, where the fathers/grandfathers/uncles/other special friends are served egg and bacon rolls and there is fruit, muffins, tea, coffee and juice etc and they get to have a special breakfast with their kids. Some one takes a photo of each child with their special adults, there is a card making station for the kids, and lucky door prizes for the adults.
This year Hannah and Meg have chosen their own gifts for the Country Boy. Consequently he is getting socks, a drink bottle, and a giant money box! Although we place more emphasis on the thought rather than the actual gift, Toby has “chosen” a gardening book for CB to try and lift the overall quality of the gifts.
This afternoon we are going on a bush walk (this is me demonstrating my sacrificial love for my husband and father) with my family followed by a BBQ dinner.
For our family the most important part of Fathers Day isn’t the gifts, it’s time we get to spend together.
Happy Fathers Day Country Boy! The kids are lucky to have such a fantastic father, and I love you!
