One Thing | That Room

It’s been a while since I shared a one thing. One thing is doing that thing that isn’t part of your everyday routine, but is something that you have been meaning to do forever. If it ever stops raining around these parts, our builder will appear and need to knock some big holes in our…

One Thing : The Craft Cupboard

Do you have a craft cupboard? In our house we have a nice old cupboard in which we store all our craft supplies. All the bits of fabric that I have (which, surprisingly, is not that much), sewing supplies, paint, glue, and the odds and ends left over from the various crafts I have dabbled in over…

One Thing : The Laundry Shelves

The cold wet weather has brought with it a few visitors of the four legged variety. It seems they like our cosy warm house much more inviting than the wet and wilds of the great outdoors. As per our marriage contract (love, honour, and deal with creepy crawlies), Country Boy sets traps, catches the mice, and…

One Thing: The Rope Swing

Long time readers here might remember how much my kids love the rope swing in our front yard. They happily swing for hours, spend time doing fancy tricks, and even invent routines they perform. It gave the me the occasional heart attack when we first moved here, but these days they are fine swinging through…

One Thing: The Trampoline

I’m back with yet another #onething, and oh my goodness this one has been on the list for 12 months! The trampoline – or more specifically getting a new net and edge pad for the trampoline. The net had several small rips, and the pad had worn completely through in places, but when Toby managed…

One Thing: The Annual Photo Book

I’m on a #OneThing bent this year courtesy of BabyMac. A drive to get some of those extra things that I always think about doing when I’m in bed, or driving the car. The week before school went back, it was all about the photo book. I’ve talked about how we do photobooks before, but…

We’re getting to the end of the summer break 😭. The kids have been staying up late, sleeping in, swimming and kayaking on the dam, reading and watching movies, and giving the LEGO a good run. I’ve been reading, sorting out things (it’s what I do in January), binge watching Netflix, and cooking. In the evenings I go for a walk and always arrive back to this view as the sun is setting. Also, I haven’t taken down the Christmas lights yet, and I probably won’t for a while longer because they are so pretty. Not ready for summer to end!

I even pulled everything out on the bathroom vanity and gave it a purge and deep clean. I have no idea how half the stuff got there 🤷‍♀️. For me January is a time to reset the house, de clutter and get sorted. Something about a new year perhaps? 🤔
Anyhow, here’s a pic of my freshly decobwebbed (totally a word) window which makes me happy- just don’t look too closely!

The mulberry tree has begun to fruit so I whipped up this mulberry yoghurt cake. It’s delicious and easy. The mulberries go all jammy and the cake is soft and not too sweet. Perfect comfort food with a hot drink when it feels like the world has gone mad.
