And just like that, another month has been and gone. A beach break was a welcome treat, but we are well and truly back into the swing of life here on the farm. Shearing starts next week, but shouldn’t take too long (thank goodness). Here are some of the small things that have been happening around here too:
Making: granny squares – I’ve finally taught myself to crochet
Cooking: chowder, pizza pockets, pumpkin spice cakes
Drinking: hot drinks.
Reading: a few new (to me) blogs
Wanting: to learn how to crochet a ripple blanket. I might finish a few more granny squares first though!
Looking: at the wreaths I made with a friend over the Easter weekend.
Playing: Uno after dinner now that the nights get dark early
Deciding: on blog redesign options. It’s in the pipeline.
Enjoying: nights in front of the fire.
Waiting: for builders.
Liking: my sister’s redesigned website for her photography business – very swish!
Wondering: about hair styles etc. I got some foils back in January. Can you get the roots touched up or do you need to start again? (I’ve never had foils before!) Advice please!
Loving: the rain we’ve had over the last month – though a bit more would be great!
Pondering: long term plans and ideas.
Buying: winter clothes for everyone. One week we are wearing shorts the next we need our winter woolies around here!
Watching: Northern Exposure (still!), Mockingjay part 1 (finally), and The Shaun The Sheep movie (with the kids)
Hoping: to visit the mountains soon. I haven’t been up to visit since January!
Marvelling: at how quickly Hannah read Harry Potter 5 – she is onto number 6!
Smelling: smoke from the wood fire. It’s going 24/7 now.
Wearing: jumpers and thermal shirts.
Following: these lovelies and lots of others on instagram. It’s my new favourite time waster (you can follow me here if you would like!)
Noticing: the kids are playing inside more. Another sign that it’s getting cold out there!
Knowing: the pumpkins need to be brought in after our first frost earlier this week.
Thinking: what the heck am I going to do with all those pumpkins again.
Admiring: Country Boy’s ability to grow fruit and vegetables.
Sorting: the pantry, my wardrobe, the kids clothes, the kitchen cupboards. I’ve been on holidays, so you know what that means!
Getting: a lot of second hand bricks to make garden edges.
Disliking: all the dust that the fire creates. I could dust twice a day (though clearly I don’t), and it would still be too dusty!
Giggling:at Toby (once again) who needs his ‘super cape’ to do anything, so that he can ‘super zoom’ around the house.
Feeling: excited to be going to problogger – I’ve booked my flights and accommodation. Bring it on.
Snacking: home baked muffins, and cans of tuna.
Hearing: a new album by a neighbour of ours – so good!
