I always love the weeks after Christmas. Everything just slows down and we get to enjoy the small things. We always decamp to the central coast with my extended family for a week of relaxation. The kids run free with their cousins. We dole out food at regular intervals and insist on afternoon rests, much to their displeasure.
Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents play endless games, read books aloud, and organise art activities. And of course there is lots of time swimming in the lake that the house backs on to.
Icecreams are consumed with regularity, and once the kids are in bed, the adults enjoy a few treats whilst boardgames are played and books are read.
Despite the slow down, these days never last long enough!
Are you enjoying some slow days?
