Last year I wrote about how we make a Christmas window each year, but because we were moving house, I didn’t actually get to show you the finished product. Fortunately, this year we are not moving house again (once a year is more than enough!) so I thought I would show you how I make them!
I usually do the design and cut it out before I involve the kids because it takes a while and they don’t have the patience to wait. I did this on Saturday night. I use two star biscuit cutters to get the star shape, but the rest I just sketch. As you can see it is far from perfect, but I like the imperfections. The palm tree is a new idea this year too.
I usually scribble on the areas I want to cut out to make it easy. I use a paper knife and a board underneath to cut out the design.
Peel and apply the contact (sticky backed plastic) in a big piece to the back of the cardboard.
Cut up coloured cellophane into small pieces. Apply the pieces to the sticky side of the contact.
Hang up on a window! So easy!!!
