: We are now getting 3 eggs each day from the chicken – that’s 21 each week. Time to start eating more quiches again, and I may have a go at some chocolate meringues too! The chickens clearly think that Spring is coming, and are as excited as I am!
: Country Boy has started preparing the garden for spring planting. He has already put the pigs into the garden to dig it up – they only took a day and a half to completely turn it up. On Wednesday he got the ripper on the tractor and pulled out the remains of the huge old tree roots that we had already burnt out. He and Toby had a lovely time playing with the tractor.
: Toby has been feral for the last few days. He is dribbling and grumpy so I am hoping that it is teething, and that he hasn’t turned into a devil child. He is definitely two – says “no” every time, even if he actually wants to say yes. He has also started shouting when he wants his way, and isn’t getting it. Consequently he is starting to spend a bit of time in the corner. I tell myself that a strong will is a good thing for kids to have, but sometimes I wish they were just placid and obedient!
: We start lambing our merino ewes this week. Country Boy will be out checking them every day again. Hopefully we don’t end up with any more poddy lambs!
: I finished listening to Death Comes To Pemberley. I have ordered some more audio books, but they haven’t arrived yet, so in the meantime I have been listening to Over The Back Fence podcasts by BabyMac. They keep me giggling on the way to and from work. I had to sit in the car to listen to the last two minutes of an episode again today.
: I’ve been watching “Class Of…’ and “The School: Educating Essex”. I love them because they show the reality of teaching high school students. I love my job. It can be challenging at times, but it is never boring. What I don’t love is that every man and his dog thinks that they know how to teach because they went to school. Teaching is hard, hard work, and is has an art to it. I challenge anyone to deal with 24 teenagers at a time and remain calm and in control.
: Joke of the day (courtesy of Meg): Why couldn’t Jack hear properly? Because he had bottles over his ears!
And on that note; Happy Friday everyone, and have a good weekend too!
